Chapel Gate Cufflinks The foremost artist blacksmith of the 20th century, Polish-born Samuel Yellin (1885-1940) established Samuel Yellin Metalworks in Philadelphia in 1909 (The studio flourishes today under the direction of his granddaughter Clare). In 1934, Yellin created an enchanting pair of wrought-iron gates for Children’s Chapel. Among the many works created for the Cathedral, the gates are memorable for the dozens of lighthearted animal and bird heads incorporated into their elegant design. This adaptation is a tribute to this master craftsman.
